Middle School Electives
MORE INFO COMING SOON...
ROBOTICS:
Robotics is an exciting program that allows students to be problem solving in a very hands-on environment. Trinity Lutheran School’s robotics program includes an introduction to basic robotic coding and Lego design. Robotics students will be utilizing Lego Mindstorm kits and various Lego robotics materials. The objective of this course is to build robot programming skills as well as problem solving strategies. Students will work hands-on in teams to design, build, program and document their progress.
STRATEGIC GAMES:
Games are important (and fun) ways to teach critical thinking skills to students. Strategic games have been proven to improve critical thinking skills, raise math and reading scores, raise self-esteem, improve behavior, and improve school attendance. Students in this class will learn to play chess and other games involving strategy in order to stretch their usual thought processes. Through this elective students become critical thinkers who can apply problem solving skills both inside and outside of the classroom.
